"Laurence" a.k.a. Oktabis the Keeper of the River of Lost Souls, Diplomat of the Doom Axe is the persona of the guitarist, drill and beer keg player of Cojum Dip.
General information
"Laurence" is the co-founder of the band, along with his childhood nemesis Bodur the Clumsy.
According to the self-titled album's PDF booklet, "Laurence", is the offspring of Charon (ferryman of the river Styx)
and a Granny Smith apple.[1]
Laurence wears a La Parka mask along with a black cape in early live shows or a black karate suit with a white belt in later live shows. He also wore black body wax in the first two shows: at the Duderstadt Center on February 18th, 2005 and at the Blind Pig on March 15th, 2005. A music video for a cover of Pubes of Doom, posted in 2021, shows him wearing a different skull-like mask.
"Laurence" was played by the co-founder of the band, Jacob Hurley. He is also occasionally played by band founder Bora Karaca.

"Laurence" was played by childhood friend of Bora and Cojum Dip co-founder Jacob Daniel Hurley from around 2004 to 2008. On January 17th, 2022, Jacob unfortunately passed away from publicly unknown causes.
